Find out if you qualify for Medicare coverage through your work or another group plan to make sure you can find the best plan for your needs.
If you are eligible, sign up during Medicare Annual Enrollment Period to make sure you get a spot on any plan that fits your need and budget.
Decide if Part A hospital coverage is right for you based on how much it costs in premiums and what type of deductible or copayment you are willing to make.
If you decide not to sign up for Part A, be sure to enroll in Medicare Savings Program (MSDP) or Medical Savings Account (MSA). These plans will reduce the cost of prescription drugs and other medical expenses.
